Message from the Minister of Education Services

Education is the backbone of a nation. The significance of the value of education is well recognized in the Sri Lankan Education system. The Education Services Unit of the Ministry of Education is responsible for providing the system with necessary infrastructure facilities and the supply of textbooks and equipment to facilitate the process of Education.

Sri Lankan schools numbering 9714, consist of Type 1AB,Type 1C, Type 2 and Type 3. These schools are supplied with textbooks and necessary equipment for the teachers and the students free of charge to implement the curriculum smoothly..

A web site to update the statistics of the physical development and the human resources of the school system is necessary to promote education in the country.
