• A clearance program during the school vacation for the continuation of tidiness of the school premises
• Instructions from the minister of education to the officers to implement the programs without obstructing the examination affairs
Several programs are being implemented at school level under the instructions of The Minister of Education Akila Viraj Kariyawasam aiming at the eradication of Dengue disease that is spreading rapidly these days island wide. Along with that, all necessary arrangements have been made to implement a program for cleaning all the school premises in the island during the Friday 28th, the Saturday 29th and the Sunday 30th of July aiming at the eradication of Dengue and also the relevant circulars for instructing the authorities including the school principals have been issued.


Accordingly, the educational activities will not be held in the schools on 28th Friday, instead of that it is scheduled to implement the activities for cleaning the school premises with the support of the school community including teachers, students, parents and the neighbors and also with the assistance of the ministry of health. On this day the children have the opportunity to come to school wearing a decent dress to suit the Sramadana activities.
In addition to this, it is scheduled to implement a special Dengue eradication program with the contribution of all on Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th. The responsibility of coordinating the health officers in the area and the other sections for blowing smoke and other mosquito eradicating activities has been given to the principals.

Furthermore another cleaning program is implemented during the school vacation for the continuous maintenance of the tidiness of school premises. According to that, all the principals have been instructed to implement a program to clear the school premises every Sunday and also to do a school premises cleaning program on the day before the starting date of the third school term. The responsibility of monitoring all these activities has been vested on the provincial education authorities.
