Benefits of ‘Suraksha” Insurance Increased

su eApproval was granted by the cabinet held recently to implement the ‘Suraksha’ insurance scheme for the year 2019.

Under the guidance of The Minister of Education Akila Viraj Kariyawasam, the Ministry of Education has taken measures to include new proposals for 2018/19 in such a way that the students get more benefits while the government incur a minimum cost considering the last year experiences of providing ‘Suraksha’ insurance cover.  

Accordingly, the benefits were provided to the students and parents in 2018/19 as Rs. 200,000 in the event of hospitalization, a daily allowance of Rs. 3,000 when undergo treatment in an unpaid ward in a government hospital or in a government Aurvedic hospital, an allowance of Rs. 20,000 for outdoor treatments, Rs. 200,000 rupees for one person in the event of demise of patents or guardian, Rs. 200,000 for funeral expenses when a student is dead, annual payment of Rs. 50,000 to 200,000 in the event of complete or permanent disability and Rs. 200,000 under the coverage of incurable diseases.
