Supply, Delivery, Installation of Multimedia Equipment for 106
Multimedia Units (MMUs) and for Selected Schools in the Provinces
1. The Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka has received a loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) towards the investment of Secondary Education Modernization Project II (SEMP II). It is intended that part of the proceeds of this loan will be applied to eligible payments under the contract for the supply, delivery and installation of multimedia equipment for 106 multimedia units (MMUs) and for selected schools in the provinces.
2. The Secretary, Ministry of Education, now invites sealed bids (valid for 120 days) from the date of Bid Opening) from eligible bidders for the supply, delivery and installation of multimedia equipment for 106 multimedia units (MMUs) and for selected schools in the provinces.
3. Interested eligible bidders may obtain detailed information from the office of the Project Director, Secondary Education Modernization Project II, Project Management Office (PMO), Ground Floor, Ministry of Education, “Isurupaya” Battaramulla and inspect the bidding documents during office hours from 0900 hours to 1600 hours.
4. Bid Documents can be obtained upon written application to the Project Management Office (PMO), Secondary Education Modernization Project II (SEMPII), Ministry of Education, Ground Floor, “Isurupaya”, Battaramulla on any working day between 0900 hours and 1500 hours on payment of a non-refundable tender fee of Rs. 1000/- in cash. Bid documents will be issued till 1400 hours on18 th February 2008.

5. Bids must be delivered to the address mentioned in Para 3, on or before 1400 hours on 19 th February 2008. All bids should be accompanied by a bid security (valid for 150 days from the date of Bid Opening) to the total value of 2% of the total bid price (excluding VAT) of the equipment. Tender caption must be indicated on the top left hand corner of the envelope.
6. Bidding will be conducted under ADB’s Limited International Bidding procedure (LIB) in the Asian Development Bank Procurement Guidelines. Bids will be opened immediately after the closing of bids, in the presence of the representatives of the bidders, who choose to attend at the office of the Project Director/SEMPII, at the address given below.
