Research Methodology – 2019 - Notice

Certificate Course in Research Methodology – 2019 University of colombo

The Ministry of Education calls applications for the certificate course in Research Methodology from officers who are engaged in quality development in education. The aim is to enable them to improve their subjects through research. This will be conducted by the Faculty of Education, University of Colombo in collaboration with the Research & Development Branch of the Ministry of Education.

Qualifications : Applications are called from officers belonging to the Sri Lanka Education Administrative Service / Sri Lanka Teacher Educator Service / Sri Lanka Principal Service / Sri Lanka Teacher Service, holding a Post Graduate Diploma in Education and are interested in research. Applicants must be below 55 years of age. Three Years’ full time active service in the current post is compulsory.
Selection Procedure : Final selection is on the basis of an interview conducted by the Faculty of Education, University of Colombo.
Period of the course : The course will be held at the weekends (either on Saturday or Sunday) and the duration of the course is 108 hours (3 months). Moreover, the course will be in both English and Sinhala media.
Selected officers will be provided academic guidance to develop the creative aspect of their professional role on the basis of research and also to prepare a research report accordingly. Officers who successfully complete the course will be awarded the certificate in Research Methodologyby the Faculty of Education, University of Colombo.

Applications with CV (including professional qualifications, present duties, special contributions to the system of education, research done in the past and engaged in at present and creative activities done by the applicant) certified by the head, must be submitted.

Applications can be downloaded. Completed applications with the recommendations of the head of department should be sent by registered post addressed to the Director, Research & Development Branch, Ministry of Education, “Isurupaya”, Pelawatte, Battaramulla on or before 20/04/2019.

19th UNESCO-APEID International Conference, Effective School Leadership for the 21st Century: Meeting the sustainable Development Goals, 7-9 November 2018, Bangkok, Thailand
Recognizing that school leadership is a priority and school leaders need sustained support to enable them to do their job more effectively, UNESCO Asia and Pacific Regional Bureau for Education in Bangkok, Thailand is organizing the 19th UNESCO-APEID International Conference, Effective School Leadership for the 21st Century: Meeting the Sustainable Development Goals, to facilitate discussions about school leadership in contributing to the SDGs. Special attention will be given to examples that link theory to practice.

The organizers invite papers on the conference sub-themes. Submit English abstracts (no longer than 200 words) by 14th September 2018.
