The requests from some sources have been reached to the Minister of Education and the Ministry of Education demanding to postpone the Advanced Level Examination considering the challenge that has to be faced by the candidates of Advanced Level Examination this time due to the reason of limiting the school days held in this year because of the spread of COVID 19 virus and on that ground being unable to cover the syllabuses.

The Minister of Education Dallas Alahapperuma has instructed the senior officials of the ministry including me and the Commissioner General of Examinations to consider the date 07th of September that has already been set for holding the Advanced Level Examination not to be an injustice to the children, after doing further investigations in this regard and also to take this request as a reasonable right of the children facing the examination under the present circumstances in the country.

I would like to inform that the final decision for holding the examination will be declared at the very first weekend coming after reopening the schools, after considering deeply the ideas and suggestions obtained from the students who sit for the G.C.E. Advanced Level Examination, the teachers who are teaching in those classes and the school principals.
